Silver Melody BellsWe are thrilled to announce an amazing gift we received from an anonymous donor: a set of Schulmerich Silver Melody Bells! These rare instruments were produced only for a short time in the 1980s, and prior to this year only a couple dozen sets were in existence. Schulmerich Carillons has just relaunched this product and Three Rivers Ringers is now extremely fortunate to have one of the first new sets of these special bells to add a new dimension to our sound.

The Silver Melody Bells produce a very different type of sound from standard English handbells due both to their cylindrical shape and their completely different alloy (nickel-plated brass). The overtones for these bells are unique, and you’ll hear a brighter, purer tone from them (watch us compare our handbells to our Silver Melody bells in the clip below).

Our Winter Concert Series, appropriately titled Silver Bells, kicks off in less than 4 weeks. We have integrated these new sounds into this program in beautiful ways that highlight melodies and add color. Our concerts in Ingram and Evans City are free. Advance tickets for our concerts in Greentree, Mt. Lebanon, and Sewickley are $7, either online or by phone. Children 12 and under are free with a paid adult ticket. Save by getting your tickets early, or buy at the door for $10. Click ShowClix or call 1-888-71-TICKETS, Monday-Friday 9am-9pm.
