Three Rivers Ringers is proud to present the 13th Annual Western Pennsylvania Handbell Festival (WPA), to be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013. The WPA Festival will return to Robert Morris University, home of last year’s festival, and will be conducted by one of today’s leading handbell composers and conductors, Timothy H. Waugh.

Mr. Waugh is the Assistant to the Director of Music Ministries at First Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he serves as Director of Handbell Musicians and directs multiple handbell choirs including the Ivey Handbell Ensemble. Tim is also the Artistic Director and Conductor of Charlotte Bronze Handbell Ensemble, one of the newest community bell choirs in the United States. These positions follow his retirement from a career spanning over 30 years of public school music education with award-winning choral groups in southern West Virginia, and serving many churches throughout Southern WV. In addition to conducting the festival, Tim will also be teaching a class session at the event. Tim is well known for his high energy and enthusiastic leadership. You and your ringers will come away from the experience knowing far more about how to use our ‘instrument’ than you ever imagined. Don’t miss this festival!

The WPA festival is a beginning-level handbell festival for handbell choirs (Level 1-2 Music) and is produced by Three Rivers Ringers, Pittsburgh’s premier handbell ensemble.  Links to download the registration documents are at the bottom of this page. Registration packets have also recently been mailed out to past festival attendees.
